Chiba University established the Overseas Campus (Center) including the International Cooperative Research Center in Bangkok in cooperation with King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) to promote exchanges of academic research and expand educational opportunities for students.

Activities

Social Design Institute (SDI) was established on April 1, 2024, as the second international collaborative research center of Chiba University, in collaboration with King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT). SDI is housed in the KMUTT Knowledge Xchange for Innovation (KX), which functions as Chiba University Bangkok Campus. SDI specializes in social design and brings together a wide range of experts to solve various social issues that ubiquitously exist worldwide. As a comprehensive research center, SDI proposes a grand design to solve manifold and complex social problems.
